Best practices for successful replies
Support / Replying to Wanteds / March 10, 2018
Some things to keep in mind
Although there is no one reply that is guaranteed to win a wanted, there are however a number of things you can do to improve your chances:
- Reply quickly
- Read the wanted
- Answer the question asked
- Introduce yourself
- Be friendly
Reply quickly
Wanteds get snapped up pretty quickly. So it's super important to reply as soon as a new wanted is posted. We find that the majority of winning candidates are selected from the first 15 replies.
Read the wanted
It seems silly to mention this but it's crazy how many wanteds get replies that are NOT related to the wanted. Posters simply ignore them. So please carefully read the opportunity before replying.
Answer the questions asked
Frequently a wanted requests specific information or details that will help the poster make a decision on messaging back. Make sure you provide what is requested, or explain why you cannot provide it.
Introduce yourself
Again it amazes us to see so many replies that are simply 'I am interested'. This is not a reply and it's a waste of time for both the poster and yourself. When replying make sure to provide enough information about yourself or situation that the poster will be interested in learning more.
Be friendly
People want to work with other happy friendly people. So when replying be sure to be friendly and positive. It will go a long way to starting a conversation that can easily end in a successful working relationship.
